What do we give the next generation? In Paul’s final words, he gives more than blessing. There is a battle to be fought, a race to run, a faith to be kept. Paul takes off the mantle given him by the Lord and places it on Timothy who must now bear the name of Jesus, proclaim the Word, defend the faith, guard the flock from attacking wolves, and be willing to suffer for the name of Jesus. Timidity must end. It is time to stand, in the Holy Spirit, for the sake of his generation, and for the next. That same mantle is now ours. It is meant to be passed on. Come to this study prepared to receive what He wants us also to give.
